Cleantech cleans up

An34 - Cleantech AwardThe highly competitive What's Your Big Idea Queensland Award is a Queensland government

and Australian Industry Group initiative that recognises and supports innovative ideas with the potential to inspire Queensland and transform industry.

Cleantech UV was selected as one of 60 to receive this prestigious award from an initial pool of 500 applicants.

Jan Jarratt, minister for tourism, manufacturing and small business presented Lee Kelman, inventor and managing director of Cleantech UV International P/L with the runner up award at Stamford Plaza, Brisbane on November 29 for their RemUVe UV infection protection device.

This program was delivered under the Towards Q2: Tomorrow's Queensland initiative that charts the course for a strong, green, smart, healthy and fair Queensland. Cleantech's Infection Protection System is a purpose built mattress sanitising device that is being further developed to place into the medical industry to tackle secondary infections associated with hospital beds.

The exciting news for the accommodation industry is this technology is now available to purchase as an in-house inventory or Cleantech technicians are able to provide the value added service to properties. The service includes a bed bug inspection prior to the sanitising of the mattress that takes just minutes to perform.

Mr Kelman explained, "This technology has been four years in research and development, it has been tested and accredited in Europe, Australia and the USA and is currently the only reliable form of mattress sanitising available to the accommodation industry. Our company has designed this alongside Australia's leading germicidal UVC experts."
